BitLounge is a Bitcoin sportsbook, but not in the traditional sense of the word. This is because it offers no markets on mainstream sports, but instead focuses entirely on e-sports – a field that is becoming more and more popular with online gamblers, especially those using Bitcoin. While the idea is a good one, and will certainly appeal to many, the site lets itself down in a number of different ways, including design and the complete lack of optimisation for mobile users. So, this is a site that looks exciting at the outset, but then really fails to deliver, meaning that most will choose to bet on e-sports elsewhere. We’d recommend esports bitcoin bettors check out Nitrogen Sports or Lunarbets.
There are absolutely no promotions found at BitLounge, which isn’t unusual for a true Bitcoin gambling site. Of course, it would be nice if they offered at least something to players though, such as a Bitcoin faucet. The fact that there are no bonuses does have one advantage though – all money you win will be yours, and you won’t have to wait to satisfy any rollover requirements before you can make a withdrawal.
There’s a fantastic rundown of how to use the site, which is found when you click the “How to Play” tab. This section takes you through everything from buying Bitcoins through to making bets. Unfortunately, that’s the only help players get though – aside from the options to contact the site via Twitter or the Steam Community – as there is no contact information at all, not even an email address. This is clearly a poor aspect of the site, and needs to be resolved.
Aside from the security provided by betting using Bitcoin, there are no visible security features at all at BitLounge. It is not regulated by a regulatory body, and does not offer 2 factor authentication – both of which are features often looked for by Bitcoin gamblers. Improving the security at the site (or making existing security factors visible) should be one of BitLounge’s top priorities.
The gambling site BitLounge does not currently offer a provably fair random number generator for any of its games.

It has to be said that BitLounge is one of the worst looking Bitcoin sportsbooks around, failing to inspire any confidence among players with a very basic and slightly unpleasant user experience. What’s more, there has been no attempt to optimise the site for mobile users, and players are not offered any bonuses at all, not even a Bitcoin faucet. While the idea of creating a Bitcoin gambling site specifically for e-sports is an admirable one, the way that BitLounge have gone about it is poor, and this site probably won’t appeal to the majority of e-sports fans. There are a few good features though – such as the live streaming of games via Twitch – however these aren’t enough to make this site a good place to play.
All of the markets at this site are for e-sports, a rapidly expanding sector of the online gambling world. This means that gamblers can bet on matches between many of the world’s top teams, which adds further excitement to watching these clashes. The match-ups can even be watched live at the site, as BitLounge offers a Twitch stream of each one, and players can discuss each match in the dedicated chat rooms. The social aspect to e-sports can be found at many other sites though, and isn’t the main focus of this site, which is instead betting on the matches. Unfortunately, BitLounge doesn’t manage to offer a great betting experience, due to a number of reasons.
The biggest issue is the fact that the site is too basic, and this makes the process of betting an unpleasant one. The range of different markets for each match-up also isn’t too impressive, and needs to be increased in order to hold the attention of gamblers. It should also be mentioned that the chat rooms aren’t busy at all, so there’s no chance to discuss the match-ups with other players, and get insights into which bets to place. Finally, there’s no opportunity to bet while the matches are in progress.
BitLounge might be a nice place to hang-out and watch different e-sports matches, but it doesn’t offer much at all to those looking to place bets – which is its primary purpose. The betting options are poor, the design of the site is bad, and there are no bonuses for players at all. When all of these points are combined, most players will decide to head to a different site in order to bet on e-sports.
