NetBet Now Accepting Bitcoin Deposits

In a huge move for Bitcoin, UK-licensed casino NetBet have now started to accept Bitcoin as a form of payment, making them the largest online gambling site in the world to do so. New and existing players at NetBet are now able to enjoy the casino, sportsbook (including esports) and poker room using Bitcoin. There had been some confusion regarding whether Bitcoin could be used for poker, however a NetBet representative has confirmed to us that poker players are able to deposit using the virtual currency.

The processing of Bitcoin transactions at NetBet will be handled by BitPay, who are one of the largest Bitcoin payment processing companies in the world, so players can be sure that their deposits will be handled properly. BitPay will also be working closely with NetBet to ensure that Bitcoin deposits at the site meet licencing regulations, particularly those laid down by the UK Gambling Commission.

Players at NetBet won’t be able to conduct their transactions solely in Bitcoin quite yet though, as for the moment the site will only be accepting deposits using the currency. This means that anyone looking to make a withdrawal from the site will have to provide an alternative payment method – something that might put many off. We expect that this initial move marks a “toe in the water” for NetBet, and should the introduction of Bitcoin deposits prove successful, we may see Bitcoin withdrawals added in the coming months.

If you’re interested in depositing Bitcoin at NetBet, we’ve put together a comprehensive NetBet review, which will let you know about their casino, sportsbook and poker, as well as the many deposit bonuses and offers available at the site.
