For sports betting players, bonuses can often seem extremely attractive. Bonuses act as a way to improve your edge over the house, and can help new players take profit earlier on than they otherwise would. However, some bonuses may seem too good to be true, and often they are. Here are two of the key considerations:
Rollover
Rollover is a standard condition for any bonus, whether at a sportsbook or a casino. Rollover is the amount of the deposit plus bonus that you need to wager in order to unlock some or all of the bonus. A deposit of 100mBTC with a bonus of 100mBTC and a rollover of 4x will require that 800mBTC (100 + 100 multiplied by 4) is wagered at the sportsbook before the bonus is withdrawn. Anything higher than a 6x rollover is often difficult to earn at a Bitcoin sportsbook, so be wary of this figure and opt for the lower rollover bonuses where possible.
Minimum odds
Most sportsbooks will only allow certain bets to contribute towards the rollover mentioned above. To make a bet more difficult to achieve, a sports betting site will ask that only odds of 1.5 or greater count towards the offer. This means that any bet where the odds are more in your favor (anything less than 1.5) will not contribute to releasing the Bitcoin bonus. 1.5 is a relatively generous minimum odds level, watch out for those sportsbooks that ask for bets with odds higher than 2.0 or more – these can be particularly difficult to earn, especially if there is a high rollover requirement as well.
